happy curry day!

are you 'curry' enough?

being a m'sian/ spore pr, I was sadden by the curry news and disgusted with the settlement of the mediation. see here for one of the news coverage

being in 2 countries that uniquely resides people of different races and cultural background lives harmoniously as one; it is only right for people who decides to reside here to respect and embrace it.

it had been a long way AND time for this unique part of m'sia & s'pore to take shape thus as it is only right for us to continue upholding it.

if there's a day that we need to move away from our home country, it'll also be our time to embrace the culture of another; and we can.

our rich multi-cultural aspect had taught us to be gracious and generous.
there's also lots of patience and empathy for harmony.
I'm definitely proud of these virtues and will continue to practice them.

I'm proud of my cultural background;
m'sian chinese with a spore pr,
bahasa melayu is my first language
but speak more English, and mandarin at home,
had good friends who were Indian, Malay and Eurasian
and still are,
love the colours and sound of Malay & Indian weddings
and hope for many more to come,
excited over religious celebration;
be it Raya, Deepavali, Xmas or Thaipusam,
I will continue our people's uniquely rich cultural beliefs
and believe it's a strong fort against all odds.

today, i'm glad to celebrate; not only the day of curry-loves but a jubilee of love and harmony among a multi-cultural nation that stands as one.

People who Respect Culture, should cheer for it!

something cheeky....
things we do that made us unique:
we speak in a tolerable decibel,
not that we had anything to hide, it's just being respectful.
anyway spore is very small,
just talk, don't need to shout.

we use English whenever possible
as it's the first language in school
and also an international language
oh, btw, it's british/ american English or just singlish.

we give way to alighting passengers
on public transport
because we had excellent transportation system,
and if you missed one,
the next one will come shortly and pretty much on time.

we all understand and practice city life,
village life is our foundation
that mould us for today
so we value them,
but we will use the dustbins today
because it's a garden city
and we respect the environment
and the city that house us.

i'm as enthusiastic as any activist for this call but my voice is small. I bet you can do more. do your part as a true-blue supporter of this harmony and spread your words. trust me.. it'll be music to the ears of many!

the angel that we pray for..

Something for that monday blue...

sometimes when you're lost
wordless and stumbled
do your eyes crossed?
or you feel crumbled?

fear not, my friend
believe there's an angel
or believe there's a bend
for at the bend there's an angel.

you pray hard
that the angel will tell
the angel will help you to send a card
to someone and ring the alarm bell.

you pray hard
that all will go well
because the angel will send the trump card
which will sets everything well

sometimes i find myself dumb
for sending my angel and not on my own
that's probably because i'm just a little bubble gum
unknown, used and then thrown.

i know i'm more than that
and everyone should know that too
just think of the situation and laugh at
because life is like that and it shouldn't be all that blue.

something i felt strongly after a few bad incidents. but it's part and parcel of life and part of everyone's life.
give me a comment if you feel the same as  i do. truly appreciate that i'm not alone, from someone who loves to tok...

why woman shouldn't be on the rig

something that i've concluded..something you might want to know...

reason 1: NOTHING will fit a woman; not the helmet, not the coveralls, not the safety boots - or it's just me?

reason 2: there's no public phones to chat for hours with friends. only emergency ones. and YES, it's an emergency if i cannot keep toking..

reason 3: every buttons look tempting. but i only know the button to the washing machine, the dryer, the electrical stove and the vacuum cleaner

reason 4: there's only one electrical box that we should know to toggle the switch back on when there's a trip. a room where electricity is being generated is too much for the delicate ears.

reason 5: everything is far too huge - for little me...

reason 6: will get lost!

reason 7: big vehicles with no styles are not in-style

reason 8: posing and enjoying the scenery is better than working

reason 9: STILL lost, STILL too big (refer to reason 5 & 6)

reason 10: still need to look good at work so probably
half of the time will be used for combing hair & touch-ups

reason 11: don't drill with concrete and heavy machines.
err, in the first place, we don't do the drilling! (if you get wat i mean)

reason 12: will always hang around at the helipad hoping to get out

reason 13: need proper office setting with comfortable chair & neat work station - and the only buttons that need to work are those on the keyboard and nothing more...

reason 14: sleep at the work place? need a queen size bed with floral bedsheets please...

reason 15: constantly thinking of escaping...

reason 16: curiosity kills the cat

reason 17: born to be fun and sometimes crazy -too much monkeying around at work

reason 18: door knobs are too big for the slender fingers

reason 19: will get distracted with cute guy as colleague

reason 20: prefer to be photographed than to be working

a rare opportunity to visit the rig on 29 Aug 2010 that my man will be working on. was amazed by the make of every single piece of machineries down to the bolts and nuts. was totally lost half-way through the tour as there's just too much for little me. but this is definitely be a visit that i'll never forget for a very long time - seeing a  platform that sustain on it's own.
have you had an interesting visit to somewhere that is restricted or we are too innocent (or ignorant) to know? share it with me here. i wanto to know i wanto know...

hope this had been an interesting piece for you...
